Your Questions, Answered

  • Psychedelic therapy is clinical, treatment-focused, and often involves a medical diagnosis. What I offer is spiritual care. Chaplaincy doesn’t pathologize your experience—it honors it. We don’t focus on fixing what’s broken. Instead, we hold space for what’s emerging. This care is for your soul, your story, and your wholeness. It’s relational, reverent, and rooted in presence. You’re not a case to solve—you’re a being to witness.

  • Think of the Chaplain as your sacred witness and steady presence. I’m not here to analyze or fix you—I’m here to hold space with deep reverence, compassion, and grounded care. During the immersive session, I tend to the energy and environment, creating a safe container for your experience to unfold naturally. I don’t steer the journey; I simply stay present with whatever arises, like a calm, loving anchor in the room. You may be listening to music, wearing an eye mask, or deep in your own inner galaxy—and I’ll be there, quietly holding the space as your inner wisdom leads the way.

  • Absolutely. Many of the people I work with are exploring psychedelics for the first time. You don’t need prior experience—just a genuine openness to slow down, turn inward, and meet yourself in a new way. We’ll spend time preparing together so you feel safe, supported, and spiritually grounded. This work is intentional and infused with deep care. Whether it’s your first time or simply a return to listening, this is a sacred space for your unfolding.

  • Psilocybin experiences vary widely. They can feel expansive, emotional, visually rich, or deeply spiritual. Some people feel a connection to nature or memory, or a sense of sacred presence. Others encounter grief, insight, laughter, release, or profound stillness. Not every moment is easy, but when held with care, even challenging passages can become meaningful openings.

  • This work is powerful and sacred, but it is not for everyone. It is not recommended for individuals with a personal or family history of psychosis, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia, or for those currently experiencing a psychiatric crisis. Emotional stability and a supportive environment are important. If you’re unsure, we can talk. Discernment is part of care.

  • A psilocybin journey typically lasts four to six hours. Effects usually begin within 30 to 45 minutes, peak after two to three hours, and then gradually subside. Many people experience an afterglow marked by clarity or softness. It’s best to clear your schedule, move slowly, and allow space for rest and nourishment afterward.

  • Item Psilocybin remains federally restricted, though the landscape is changing. States such as Oregon and Colorado have established legal pathways for supported use, and clinical research continues to expand. This work occurs in a complex legal environment and is guided by transparency, spiritual integrity, and care. You will never be advised to break the law. The focus is on ethical spiritual care, preparation, and integration.description

  • I offer in-person psilocybin sessions at a mutually agreed-upon location within a two-hour radius of New York’s Hudson Valley, including metro NYC, western Connecticut, and eastern New Jersey. • No, I do not supply or administer any psychedelic substances. If you choose to work with psilocybin, it is your responsibility to source it safely and mindfully, in alignment with your values and circumstances. During preparation, I can help you thoughtfully consider sourcing options with care and discernment, while staying within ethical and legal boundaries.
